SIGABA GRANTED FEDERATED AUTHENTICATION PATENT

Patent Amplifies Company's Unique Capability To Provide Secure Information Sharing Across Multiple Domain Environments
San Mateo, CA - April 10, 2007 - Sigaba (www.sigaba.com), a leader in secure messaging management, today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has granted the company an additional patent for Federated Authentication, a technology that enables secure information sharing by facilitating the trust of identification credentials among multiple disparate entities.

Patent number 7,194,547, awarded to Sigaba on March 20th, 2007 grants Sigaba sole right to accept authentication statements from any number of trusted sources and use it to enforce access control policies for securing applications. The technology included in the patent enables global federated authentication, allowing member organizations to manage authentication of their own application communities. The technology also significantly decreases administrative and management costs by reducing the number of users that an organization must maintain as well as mitigating the ongoing risks of maintaining credentials for users that are not part of their domain.

Sigaba’s core architectural platform continues to be enhanced providing fundamental services to a series of new and innovative applications.  “Securing this patent assures that the technical foundation of Sigaba’s product and services will continue to offer Sigaba customers unique and exceptional value,” said Jahan Moreh, Chief Security Architect at Sigaba.

“Receiving the federated authentication patent is a significant achievement in Sigaba’s intellectual property portfolio and strategy” said Troy Hartless, President and CEO at Sigaba.  Sigaba recently demonstrated the use of federated authentication in the U.S. Department of Defense and international coalition environments, encrypting email and documents allowing each nation to leverage its own authentication mechanism during the decryption process. Our enterprise and government customers can exchange information securely with their colleagues, customers, partners and constituents even across disparate domains.”
