STATE OF DELAWARE STANDARDIZES ON SIGABA SECURITY SOLUTION

State Awards Enterprise Contract, Sets Sigaba as Statewide Standard for Secure Information Exchange

Issued by Delaware's Department of Technology and Information (DTI) - the authority for implementing statewide and interagency technology solutions, policy, standards, and guidelines - the standard applies to all State communications and computing resources, such as systems associated with e-government and other Internet initiatives.

"The lack of security of standard e-mail, as well as federal regulations such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Sarbanes-Oxley, are making secure communications of sensitive and private information a priority for the State of Delaware," said Delaware CIO Thomas M. Jarrett. "This is part of a larger initiative within the state to safeguard internal communications, as well as that with business partners and citizens."

Under the terms of the agreement, Sigaba is providing the State of Delaware with an enterprise license of the Sigaba secure messaging suite for 10,000 seats. The suite includes Sigaba Secure Email and Sigaba Secure Statements, and is being used in the areas of email, content security, auditing, and message tracking. The Sigaba solution is the only product used by the State to initiate secure email.
